As the co-founder of Pi-Top and an engineer who graduated from Oxford University, Mr. Ryan
Dunwoody will visit Chaihuo Maker Space at Friday, 8th, May, 2015, and demonstrate the Pi-Top,
which is the integration of Raspberry and 3D print technologies, as well as narrate the developing
philosophy, application of daily life, expectation to the market, in the end, Mr Dunwoody will answer
the questions from makers.

Pi-Top Co-Founder & CTO
Ryan is the lead engineer for Pi-Top, he specialises in the electronics side but also oversees
the mechanical side and the production of the laptop as a whole. His degree at Oxford University
was a general engineering degree, giving him a range of engineering knowledge and skills.
For his 4th year engineering project, he built a solar powered, super capacitor based
Raspberry Pi laptop and received a prize for best project, awarded by the Oxford Engineering
Department. Ryan then joined with Co-founder Jesse to create Pi-Top and has not stopped
doing it since!
Ryan’s entrepreneurial passion began at the age of 14 when he started a firewood production
and distribution company and grew it to eventually offer a nationwide delivery service -a company
he sold before going into Oxford University.

The Story of Pi-Top:
Not long ago, engineers from London created a laptop (Raspberry Pi) with size like credit card,
however, it integrates completed functions of a normal computer should have.
Please do not be cheated by its size, when this tiny ‘computer card’ connect to monitor,
keyboard and speakers, it not only can be used to surf on internet, watch HD movie,
programming, even playing some games, overall, it has the most functions that desktop has.
But then again, with the LXDE (based on Linux) operation system installed, the main application
of Raspberry Pi is software programming education, the developers even designed a dedicated
programming language for it, which is Raspbian.
Recently, the development team plan to design a DIY 3D print set for the laptop. According to
the information, this set is called Pi-Top, which is the idea combination of Raspberry Pi and Laptop.
This set contains all the material you need to print a 3D laptop and a completed guide, which
helps user to easily print out all of the essential components.
With the Development of 3D print platform, Pi-Top team has created several 3D files in various
format, as a result, users are able to print out the cover of Pi-Top in any 3D printer with the size
beyond 5 inches.
As to Pi-Top, the 3D filaments with remarkable features, such as, various colors, stable performance
and environmental friendly, is the most important criteria. The collaboration between Pi-Top and
eSUN industrial ensures that Pi-Top has strong support in PLA 3D filament.
The one of the designers, Jesse Lozano said, they encourage users can be creative and build
their own works, this Pi-Top is only a beginning, it can be used to practice at the beginning,
then users can learn how to design and build their own work. Actually, the core idea is about
combining 3D printing and PCB designing, it is easy for you to build up your own electronic
work, if you can handle these two skills.

The original intention of Pi-Top is that allows users build up their individualized Raspberry
Pi. More than a regular laptop, Pi-Top inspires users to build intelligent equipments, for
