Mannequins are not uncommon in everyone’s life. It is widely used in the clothing industry, jewelry industry, cosmetics and other industries, and human body models. The clothing industry accounts for the largest consumption, and the product model is also the largest. The models in the jewelry and cosmetics industries are mostly half-body models.

There are four main materials commonly used in the production of mannequins. FRP (commonly known as glass fiber reinforced plastic), PU polyurethane material, HIPS, and PLA+ material. Environmental protection is the main concern of all walks of life. FRP products may be facing be banned from production and sale due to environmental protection reasons in European and American markets; PU is inconvenient to recycle, and its development prospects are also relatively limited; the main obstacle to HIPS injection blow molding is the high cost of metal molds. When the demand is small, it is not a cost-effective choice.

Compared with the production process of other materials, 3D printing has convenient services such as less investment in production and development, short cycle time, no mold cost, and data archiving of product models. Mass production can also be achieved through the quantitative change of the printer.
