ESUN’s New Product PETG with High Toughness and Impact Strength

In Nov,2014, Esun’s newest product PETG with unbelieveble high toughness and impact strength will come 

to the market. Compared to the conventional polyacrylic acid esters, its impact strength is 3-10 times stronger than the old one.Also it can be printed a variety of goods due to its wonderful 

flexibility. Compared to PVC,not only it is more transparent and with good gloss, but also it is 

easy to print and environment-friendly.

PETG is short of Poly (ethylene terephthalateco-1,4-cylclohexylenedimethylene terephthalate), it is a kind of transparent, an amorphous type copolyester.

PETG commonly used for copolymerization monomer 1, 4 -cyclohexane two methanol (CHDM, Cylclohexylenedimethylene), its full name is 

polyethylene terephthalate -1, 4 - cyclohexane 2 methyl ester.It is made of terephthalic acid (PTA), 

ethylene glycol (EG) and 1, 4 -cyclohexane two methanol (CHDM), three kinds of monomers ester exchange by the method of

polycondensation,

Compared with PET it contains 1, 4 -cyclohexane two methanol copolymerization monomer, and  for PCT it contains glycol monomer. 

Thus,it is very different from this two kinds of material.

Due to its outstanding thermal formability, tenacity and weatherability ,PETG is far different from 

the conventional PC board and the modified acrylic board, PETG can be printed directly without pre-drying, and it can be formed quickly with low printing tempereture, above this, it has good yeild. 

At the same time,it can keep the product’s toughness and prevent it yellowing. As it contains uv 

absorber, it can protect the sheet from the influence of ultraviolet ligh through co-eprotective 

layer.

combine the strength of PLA and ABS, when it is printed,its material shrinkage rate is very small, 

and it has good hydrophobic,so we can keep it with noraml space.Just due to the low shrinkage rate, it can be printed 

without heated bed , and it has almost no smell in the printing process.”
